Abel Rivera, just two days shy of his 75th birthday, passed away at home in Armona, California Born on May 30, 1951, Abel lived a life marked by kindness, diligence, and a ready smile. He retired after many years of service as a janitor, where his hard work and reliability left a lasting impression on those around him.

 

Abel was always helpful and caring, and those who knew him could often hear him coming by the familiar jingle of change in his pocket or keys dangling at his side. In his free time he was a Raiders fan. He loved watching old westerns, especially the classics, and could often be found enjoying a good western or the news with a cup of coffee and a smile.

 

He is survived by his daughter Alinda, Son-in-law Tim, grandchildren TJ and Alex, siblings Cruz, Rosie and Joe and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Gabriella and Abel; brothers Rudy and Lupe; wife Mary and son Jamie.

 

Abel’s warmth, generosity and gentle presence will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
